Introduction on the text "Blacklistted"
The text found on this site under the title "Blacklisted" is a copy of a UN document,
stating that Nabil Sayadi and his wife Patricia Vinckare - as a result of the follow up of their own UN-policy -
are placed on the UN-Al-Quaida list.
As the story goes: neither there as anywhere else any reason for this act is provided. Not any effort is done to inform the Sayadis, the Belgian government or the billions of onlookers stumbling on this UN-website what might cause the urge to blacklist the Sayadi's. The whole world is informed about people being placed on some Bad-People's list - names, birthdays, marriage dates, passport numbers etc. are fed to the public and all this seemly without anyone being supposed to put any question mark next to it....
A few have been removed from the UN-terror-lists. Often after their governments questioned the approach.
These acts of removal are stated on the UN-website as well. However - once again - not a single clue is provided why those people got removed.
Did they, one fine day get a nice letter (in their native language) from Koffie Anan saying "sorry, we got it all wrong. We have publically admitted our mistake. On simple request we will remove your name from our website immediately. We also will buy your house back you lost after going bancrupt because you went out of businness. We will provide counsellors for you and your extended familly and publish in at least 50 newspapers around the world we got it all wrong. We sorry your daughter got stabbed by a lunatic waging his own anti-terror war. Too bad your eldest daughter got refused at the university for not removing her headscarf. What a relief she didn't ran away from home and ended up serving drinks in a disco! If we could be would truly obtain the collection of antiques you had to sell. And return it to you of course. Each year - according to the rites you agree too - we will provide flowers for the grave of your son who got that terrible accident after he was so rudely dealt with for one time too much at a job interview. We can also provide candles and incense if you like. As a sign of my true remorse, I am happy to send you a signed copy of all bundled articles, news reports, programs and declassified reports in which your name or one of your familly member's name, got mentioned the past three years. You can find it all on the set of DVDs included. I also promiss you to send you my latest book after it is published: "Democrasy On Its Way to Enternal Justice" - some well known leaders of State have already promissed my agent to provide an introduction.
o.sure they didn't get a pardon for (having) been life-long publically stigmatized. What have those removed gone through? How affected are their lives and the lives of their families and of those many more and their families too who are still on that list-of-terror? Is discretion not a virtue to protect both the judical process, the rights of 'accussed' and of democrasy itself?
Mind, once more, the people on the UN-lists are NOT accussed. They are only publically listed while their lives gradually might become the playground of a sociological experiment governments have never orcestrated in history before. -
Who is to be placed here at the pillory as bringing in jeapody all our ancesters have strived for so many ages?
Isn't the UN due to this nearly incomprehensible behavior of publicly announcing - in large administrative detail only however - that someone might be related to media-number-one-wrongdoers, undermining its own credibility as a major pillar justice can be based on? History will tell.
